Eighty percent (80%) of people suffer from lower back pain in their lives. It is the second most common reason for visits to the doctor’s office, outnumbered only by upper-respiratory problems.

The neck and lower back is a very unstable part of the spine. This instability allows us to have a great deal of mobility to touch our toes, tie our shoes, pick up objects, and look in all directions. But all this mobility comes at a cost….. lower back pain or increased risk of injury.

Even with this instability, we can withstand tremendous force without injury, if the spine is functioning correctly. However, if the low back is out of alignment or has weakened supporting muscles, something as simple as lifting a bag of groceries, or picking a pencil off the floor can cause severe pain.

Until recently, researchers believed that back pain would heal on its own. However, that is not the case. Recent studies showed that when left untreated, it may go away temporarily, but will return. Therefore, it is important to take low back pain seriously and seek professional chiropractic care. It is especially true if the pain keeps recurring…. We can help.
